M-ATX board for conroe?

isn't VIA a little 'dodgy' when it comes to the chipsets on these?

Aceofspades:- thanks for the heads up mate, but i'd edit the link out and have a gander at the rules. This is a great forum and i wouldn't want you banned before you get settled.

id recommend the Asrock Conroe945G-DVI too, im using it at the moment.

nice simple and stable board, max fsb is 299 lol but that doesnt bother me

as its just used as a simple web browser. 6400 @ 2.4Ghz.

Has built in graphics with dvi, intel gma 950?

well worth £48

As strange as it sounds, the integrated graphics are not THAT bad.

Around FX5500/5600 speeds i'd say.

More than enough to do a small amount of gaming on. It's not going to run FEAR, but a bit of CnC Generals or even WoW is well within it's reach.

so for the difference in money is the asrock better than the ASUS P5L-VM 1394, i am an overclocker at heart.

Also whats a good cooler for the sugo? as i believe it has to be low profile.

Using the Zalman CNPS-8000 here, it's a good cooler.

If you are absolutly sure you don't want any overlocking at all what so ever, you might try out the Asus P5B-VM. It's a G965 board.

The overclocking on the ASUS isn't fantastic - somewhere over 350FSB the PCI overclocking shuts down the SATA HDD and you have to use a PATA HDD to go any further.

The ASRock is a brilliant board for the money. Not only is the ASUS P5B-VM a poor clocker but lots of posts have said it's a bit flakey at stock too.

Good to know thanks all! :)

Im currently using my 6600 on a ConRoe 945G-DVI, Rock stable, comes conroe ready out of the box, no crashes or glitches whatsoever - Recommended AAAAAAAAAAAA++++++++++++++

Just got mine today, and priming @ 312 (6600) 2.8.

I also got x1950 pro

3dmark 03 18275
3dmark 05 11031
Superpi 18 seconds

Does these scores seem okay?

Love the board.

You've really got an ASRock 945 DVI booting over FSB300?

That is genuinely unheard of. Normally they crap out at FSB299 or less. Could you post a verified CPUz link so I can study it?

This might sound like a daft question but what colour is the writing on the board? White or gold?

It's white mate, I set the pcie to 112 to get 312, and it's been priming for 30 mins.

Got a link for cpuz and I'll do it

I demand you explain how you got that board past 299FSB!

Is there a new revision, a new BIOS maybe?

This is really impressive! :)

[Edit]

There IS a new BIOS for the Asrock.

http://www.asrock.com/support/download.asp?Model=ConRoe945G-DVI#bios

Something to do with this maybe? Going to flash it now.
