M-ATX case recommendations?

Hi All,

I'm after a case for a new build around an M-ATX motherboard. I will be running a Ryzen 9 7900X CPU with Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 Cooler which has a max height of 157mm.
The 7900X is 170W TDP and I believe is know to run fairly hot, so I need a case with decent cooling however ideally it'd strike a good balance between airflow and noise.

I'm after a standard tower form to tuck under a desk, so don't really care for any bling or windows etc.

I'd like to keep the case as small as possible while still providing adequate airflow. Should I go for a mini tower or mid tower? Will M-ATX boards fit in all mid (ATX) towers?

I want to be able to fit the majority of GPU's in it so when I come to upgrade I won't be limited for choices.

Case quality, airflow, noise, space and cable management are the highest considerations.

So many options!

What do you recommend? Are there stand out brands or models ?

I have a budget of around £100.

Many Thanks,
X20

Hi.

Yes matx motherboards will fit into larger cases.

I like the Asus Prime AP201 TG if you do not mind RGB then the Fractal Design Pop Mini Air RGB but check limitations.

The ASUS cage looks nice but due to be so open on all sides, I'm guessing that it would get dusty very quickly.

As I have around 500mm height of useable space under the desk (to allow for usb connections etc), and because one side is against the drawers, I'm wondering if might be better off going for a mid tower case with more room inside for airflow, but having air entry from front and top only:

This would also mean that if I want to use the case for an ATX board in the future I can.

EDIT: possibly bottom entry may be better than top (or both).
