M1 variable speed cameras - J10-13

I think he's referring to the fact they have the cameras every mile or so. Speed through them all and you will get 6 sp50s

Surely it's one offence as you were speeding the whole time?

Else they could fine you for every second you were over the limit when a cop sees you.

Though I have no legal evidence to back up what I said :p

I seem to recall a story in the papers where a guy lst his license doing just that. Will have to see if I can find it.

I saw one flash on the M6 just after wolverhampton, but there was a 40 limit active, on my side the limit was 60, and most folk went through at 70 andI didnt see any flash.

Citation needed. You have committed a single offence of speeding, the fact it was observed at 6 different points doesn't mean you get 6 convictions.

Would you care to test that theory?

Didn't think so.

From what I can tell though, the gantry cameras on the M6 don't do anything. Seen people ignoring them so many times I started ignoring them myself, never got any fines.
Also, you do not need a GPS database to tell which ones have cameras on, you just need a windscreen.

Seriously?

It was a retarded thing to even ask, of course I'm not going to go and prove it by driving through 6 speed cameras above the speed limit.

Its like asking you to prove that you can commit suicide if you wanted to.

A TAXI driver could be facing suspension after he was caught speeding three times in one morning – on the same road.
.....
Gillard, who was in the dock at Plymouth Magistrates' Court yesterday to admit the speeding offences, now has nine penalty points to his name.

The ones on the M1 annoy the hell out of me. Half the time in the mornings and evenings the gantries are set to 60 for no apparent reason. Everyone then ignores them and does a standard 70+ except for the random few who suddenly realise they're approaching a section of road with camera markings and stick on the brakes to bring themselves down to 60. Very wearing.

What is the relevence of that? He commited three seperate offences. He drove up and down the road 3 times.

This is nothing like driving down the same road for, say, 10 miles at 60mph in a 50mph zone and being flashed 3 times by cameras.

Your example is 3 seperate offences, each witnessed once. The example being discussed is one offence witnessed 6 times. How are they the same?

Citation still needed ;)

Your theory is based upon the assumption that turning around makes it a separate offence since you have no citation for your view point either and nobody is willing to test the theory well have to call it a draw ;)

You can call it a draw if you want, there is no such assumption.

He was making three different journeys (there was a time gap between each of them) - even if they were the same journeys unless he also mastered the art of the handbrake turn at ultra high speed how did he turn around without slowing down under the speed limit and then accelerating back over it, ie, creating a new offence?

If three police officers spot you doing 80 down the M1 do you get 9 points?

What about one police officer spotting you doing 90 on the motorway pulling you over then being pulled over again 2 miles further down the road. Would "but I got caught by another officer 2 minutes ago get you off the charge ?"

Your example would only apply if all 3 officers were in the same location when they saw you. Same applies to the cameras
