Through work (British gas) I have access to sytners affinity discount scheme and can get a m135i for 47 months for £299

seems too cheap?

anyway how do these work are you tied in for 47 months per say or for example after 2 years can you decide not to rent anymore?

Surely going to the bank, getting a loan and buying the car would be a more cost-effective solution?

There is probably a deposit on top but even if not its hardly cheap, 14 grand and you are left with nothing at the end.

Lol, will you always be so anti-new car? It seems the only vehicles you are ever satisfied with are ultra-dull, old,5 door BMW's where you've calculated the most economical trim level down to the penny.

He is just correctly pointing out that private lease schemes are a bad way to buy a car. If you are obsessed with always having a car that it never more than three years old, they are OK, but once in, it is hard to get out without taking it in the shorts. You have to replace the car after three years, even if your personal circumstances have changed for the (far) worse. From an economic standpoint, it makes far more sense to buy the three-year old car that someone else just sold back for less than half of what it cost new.

Of course, the whole point is that new car buyers aren't sensible about it.

I ordered mine last December.

10k miles.

Auto
3 door
Metalic paint
Visibility pack
Business nav

£301 per month, 23 + 6 months.

Only really got it because it was 'cheap' but really love it. It's a great car in almost every way. It's also very subtle.
