Hi all ive got a MSI B450 Tomahawk mobo and a couple of years ago i installed a WD Blue SN550 1TB M2 drive and up until a couple of days ago ive had no problems.
Its showing as installed in the Bios but not in disk management ive tried updating the bios and all the other drivers still with no success.
Does anyone have any ideas of what i can do or does it sound like its dead and needs replacing?

I tried Ubuntu and it showed up on the list of disks on there but there didnt appear to be anything on it

Sounds like it has lost the partition table data then. There are tools that you can use to try and recover it if you want/ned the data from the drive. If not you can just format it again, and then use it again. I'd run the WD diagnostics tool on it in Windows first though as it could have a hardware error as well, so you may lose all the data again.

I remembered i had another M.2 drive exactly the same and again it shows up in the bios but nowhere else so its got me stumped lol

Have you recently updated your BIOS? Or changed any settings in it?
Also has any hardware been added or removed?

I updated the BIOS but that was after the drive stopped working and theres been no new hardware added or removed.I did install Winzip Driver Updater but only used it once after seeing bad things about it.

I have just tried a CMOS reset and its still the same so i might order a new M.2 Drive and see if that works.

Ok took delivery of a new M.2 drive and had the same problem so scoured the net again and found a video that solved the problem basically i just removed the RAID Bottom Device Driver in Device Manager and all is well now lol
