Hi folks,

I'm looking for a 2tb m2 SSD to upgrade a Samsung 1tb M2. I have an Asrock 650 am5 board and a 7700 Ryzen. Light duty really as I have a NAS.

Am I ok saving the cash and getting a 990evo or should I be buying a pro?... Or pro with heat sink.

Or is there another no brsiner ssd nowadays?

Drive wise it boils down to dramless while the later is more susceptable to read write speeds drop off under heavy use.

For £105 the WD an 770 (dramless) is a enough for most otherwise something like a Lexmark 790, sn850x , 990, etc

The Kingstown is not bad value for a dram drive.

That is in shooting distance of 990 pro - any profound reason why the 990 pro isn't a good choice? Otherwise I'll stick to the brand I know I think.

Thanks for the response

For high-end SSDs with a DRAM cache, the usual suspects are (in no particular order):
Samsung 990 pro
WD SN850X
Seagate Firecuda 530
Crucial T500
Adata XPG GAMMIX S70 BLADE
Kingston Fury Renegade
SK hynix Platinum P41
Solidigm P44 PRO

I would go with any on the list, whichever is cheapest on the day
