So sad to hear

Five of the people who died in one of the worst crashes on the M25 in 20 years had been returning from a stag event in Leicestershire, police say.

The group from Brighton were in a rescue truck which was carrying their broken-down minibus when it collided with a lorry between junction 8 and 9.

The recovery vehicle driver, who was 46 and from Rugby, died at the scene but the HGV driver was uninjured.

A sixth occupant of the minibus was also hurt but is stable in hospital.

Just seen the cab of the rescue truck and its just a mess its like a crush can, the lorry was a container and they have high gap between the floor and where the container is.

The groom wasnt hurt......and one guy survived..how the hell can you live a normal life after that happening :(

Cant really see how it happened.....unless the turck pulled out while going a lot slower than the recovery truck. :(

driver of lorry has confirmed that his vehicle was moving. the cab of the recovery truck was almost non existent after that incident.

rip the lot of them :/

My father just told me about it today after I got in from work and wondered why all the roads around here were snarled up so badly. Sounds horrendous. RIP :(

:(

Terrible. Truck crashes can be a very bad thing.

I can well imagine what could have happened.

A lorry driver is being quizzed by police after a motorway smash left six people dead and one man fighting for life in hospital.

The accident happened on the M25 in Surrey when a recovery vehicle with a broken down minibus on the back collided with the back of a HGV.

Police said it was too early to determine what caused the accident, which left the cab of the recovery vehicle completely destroyed.

The incident occurred at 2.15am on the anti-clockwise section of the motorway between junctions nine and eight, Leatherhead and Reigate.

The six dead and the seventh injured man were all travelling with the white minibus, while the lorry driver was uninjured.

A police statement said: "The mini bus had earlier broken down and the six passengers from the minibus had transferred to the cab of the recovery vehicle.

"There are six fatalities and one person seriously injured in hospital. The driver of the HGV has not been injured and is helping Surrey Police with their inquiries.

"At this stage it is too early to confirm the exact cause of the accident."

I think the last paragraph sums it up tbh.
