M25 led by traffic cop?

Travelling anti-clockwise around Junction 16(ish), I noticed the other direction being led at about 20mph by a single traffic police land rover.

Not often I experience motorway driving, what reason would they have to do this?

I didn't see any signs of an accident.

Going by the police programmes on TV, they've done it before if trying to chase someone? Keeping the normal traffic out the way.

Rolling road block. To slow the traffic to clear a problem futher up the road.

Well I was led before in my dads car by police on the wrong side of the motorway due to a security alert.

Was the weather bad or anything?

He was just trying to see how slow he could go before people would get over their fear of overtaking a police car

So true.

I hate the publics reaction to police cars on the motorway, somehow its wrong to do the speed limit past a police car, so instead you must do 65mph past it then when 100 meters away floor it....... What i want to see is two police cars spaced 200 meters apart, that will confuse the locals......

Our local traffic police can get your speed whilst moving, and regardless, they most certainly would have pulled me. Although, I can't speak for how traffic police are on the mainland.

I'm not so sure it would, not in a short distance anyway, especially considering I took the bend about twice the speed the police car was. Had I decided to put my foot down, it would have taken him a fair old while to catch up, probably until my car ran out of steam around 135.

Edit: Unless they are 3.2 T6's, it seems that 130 is about the top speed for the V70s.

Exactly the same with IOW police being part of Hampshire Constabulary.

Wow i wish my car only 'ran out of steam' when it got to it's top speed.
