I have an M4-CT128M4 SSD on my current system as a boot/windows drive. I have just ordered a load of upgrade bits (X99 etc. from ocuk of course) and wonder if I should replace the boot drive for something newer or won’t it make much difference?

Also what is the best way to clean/format my SSD prior to a fresh install?

Your expert advice would be much appreciated.

Deleting the old partitions is enough. No need to secure erase unless you're selling the drive or experiencing performance issues.

Check the firmware version is the latest on it too, the Crucial M4 ran into a bug after being on for 5200 hours where it would crash the PC really often.

Updating the firmware resolves this issue.
