Hi, I have done a speed test using ATTO on my new M4 SSd and the results were....

198107 Write
272800 Read

Means jack to me!!

Is that good, Bad or what!!!!:)

Cheers

what size ssd do you have? The read/write rates vary with different models. My 128gb M4 performs slightly above spec with atto and bang on spec with Crystal disk mark........

Just read a few of your other post's and gather that you have a 128gb M4 ssd, (Snap) your writes seem good,(same as mine) but i'm getting 435974 read with atto, so your reads seem a low to me tbh.

Hi, Went to this download. Paid the donation but can not see how to actually download it?? i thought that after going through paypal it would allow me to download it.

You right. I just could not see it earlier!

Im going nuts today. Trying to do too many things at the same time. Already managed to completly wipe my Iphone4 by just updating it and lost everything in the process. back to factory defaults.

Thanks.

sounds like your stuck at the limits of Sata 2 bandwidth double check you are using a sata 6/gbs lead and port on your mother board/controller

Hi, here is a bench test i did earlier. What do you think??

Seq 267.88mb/s read 190.29MB/s Write
4K 22.68MB/s read 48.58MB/s Write
4K-64 THrd 26.03MB/s read 85.53MB/s write
Acc.time 0.106ms read 0.204ms write

Score 75 153

274

It means nothing to me is it OK??

You should be achieving on or around 415mb sequential read with your 128gb M4 SSD, follow Mr. may2's advice above, something is not quite right on your reads.

once you have sorted your sequential reads out maybe you could look at selling your 5670 for a 6870 or something, it is your weakest part in that build.

Hi, the SSd is plugged in to port 0. I checked earlier. Any other ideas??

This decice uses a marvel controller i thought, so should it be plugged into them instead.

I wiil adjust my signature now...

Thanks

I have no idea which is port 0.

For best results it should be plugged into one of the Intel 6Gb/s ports as I indicated.

If it already is then OK.

The Marvell ports are rubbish so don't use one of those.

I assume you did set the mothernoard to AHCI mode before you installed Windows?

Er AHCI Mode?? Dont think so.... can i check now or do it now or is it too late??

Thanks

It is deffinately plugged into a 6 Gb/s port as shown in the above picture. Thanks.

On the Storage Configuration page in the BIOS there is a setting for SATA mode which is IDE, AHCI or RAID. Ignore the setting for Marvell SATA3 Operation Mode.

If you've not changed this it's likely to be in IDE mode and you need to change it to AHCI.

But you can't just do that otherwise your system won't boot.

You need to apply the fix here first.

So first make the changes in the link, then restart your PC and go straight into the BIOS, change the SATA mode to AHCI, save the changes and the PC will start again.

Try your benchmark again after you've done that.

If for some reason it doesn't boot change it back to IDE mode and try booting again.

Thankyou very much Surveyor. It worked!!

Now have a Seq read of 412.24MB/s and the other readings have improved too..

I would post it here but cut n paste dosent work and im not sure how else to do it.( im a novice at this).

Thanks again
