Guys,
Full details posted in http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18520406
To cut a long story short I think my drives somehow died at the same time as neither drive is picked up in the bios of my 4770k or Q6600 systems. I have a spare old Toshiba sata drive and this is picked up fine in both.
I have returned the M4 for RMA yesterday.
Turning to the Western Digital Black when plugged into either system it doesn't feel like the drive is powering up at all. The drive is under warranty but I could really do with getting the data off it before sending back (Photos, music etc.)
I've never replaced a PCB before - Will this be obvious to WD that I have changed the PCB and will they refuse the warranty?
What is the likelihood that the problem actually is the PCB? I'm looking at £45ish for a replacement. Is it worth me posting some pics of the back of the hard drive?
Thanks for all of your help as always.
