M42 Speed Cameras

Can i just aska question, If you were doing say 90 down a moterway, and got caught twice, or maybe again on the way back, would you get 6 points + £120 fine or would it be classed as one offence?

Secondly do temp camera's in vans work in the dark?

There are actually now 2 or 3 SPECS (or whatever those average speed ones are called) right at the end of the M42 travelling eastbound just before junction 1. They've put them up within the last week or so due to roadworks. I noticed them on Tuesday on my way back from Longbridge. Before this, I've never seen any of them along the M42, which I travel along regularly. This isn't in the variable speed section, it's just on the roadworks at the very end of the motorway before it turns into the A42.

near junction 1, the bromsgrove junction where you can only get on east bound and off west bound or the part where the m42 joins the m5?

My radar detector (Bel 980) goes absolutely mental at most of these gantries, even when they're set to NSL so they're definately still active. Whether they'll take a photo or not I don't know, and I'd rather not risk it!

I was going to say. I live in bromsgrove and use the M42 quite a bit and tend to move a bit from J1 until 3. :S

I've never been sure if the M42 cameras were on. I think ill be taking it a bit easier now.

I've not had any tickets yet and ive been doing at least 80 through most of the M42. Will keep to the limit after reading this thread.

if you wish to avoid the motorway - the alternaive routes around dorridge are fun and cameraless!

Where do you travel from and to Sic? Is it from WR11 to Brum?
