M5 Sounding a bit odd?!

Started up my brothers M5 yesterday and it isn't sound great to me.

Sounds like it's coming from bottom end rather than top. There's oil in it and brother always complained about oil consumption being something like a litre every 600 miles or something daft like that.

Difficult to tell from a video tbh but I'd hazard a guess that was top end.

And a litre every 600miles would have me worried!

It may have been every 1000, he said it was within "tolerance" but I thought it was still too much.

I will take another listen with a screwdriver but it's certainly not normal at this stage.

very tappy, whats the millage? may need valve adjustments.
for burning oil check valve stem oil seals, piston rings, and bottom end bearings.

That should have self adjusting hydraulic valves. Sounds like a bottom end from possible oil starvation.
