M6 J16 > J15...

Went down the M6 over the weekend. Had no problems going south from Manchester, but on the way back home I got caught in the 40 limit.

I joined on J14 heading North.

Funny thing was, was that there were signs for speed cameras and yet (or I'm blind) I didn't see any cameras

You're blind!

However they appear to be covered up again at the moment with "camera not in use" printed on the covers.

Just after J15 (if heading northbound). Seems they aren't quite ready for the roadworks, as the signs have all been laid down again (they were upright at the tail end of last week).

thanks for the heads up. Another heads up is that between JUNCTION 13 AND JUNCTION 12, THEY HAVE SPECS CAMERA'S UP!! so 40 all the way officer.

So please be carefull :)

Just a word of heads up, there are two new GATSO's (one southbound, one northbound) between J16 and J15 on the M6, right near Keele Services. They aren't active yet (still have protective covers on them), and I suspect that they are going to be for forthcoming roadworks (an alarming number of cones seem to be accumilating near the central reservation, over the last week).

Drove up to Keele uni and back last Saturday (1st April) and yes I remember seeing them.

Drove up from Hampshire. All in all about a 3:30 hour drive. Road works everywhere, 40 limit around Oxford and the likes. Oh well.

You go to Keele Uni?

Cheers for the heads up, that stretch of the motorway is just a bloody nightmare all the way upto manchester, it was worse when they were still working on thelwell viaduct:(

Isnt it just, there is no real viable alternative either, thats the annoying thing. In engineering terms that is quite possibly the WORST stretch of motorway in the world.

Cheers for the heads up on that! Will be down there soon enough.
It's the end where it goes down to two lanes, down by the A444. The bit where trucks aren't allowed to overtake.
