The above phone was delivered this morning and as well as the trully rancid branding and interesting silver/gunmetal case t-mobile seem to have bodged it so that it won't make calls or send/receive texts.
Incomming calls work about 50% of the time but outgoing just says connecting then returns you to the home page after about 10 seconds.
The web 'n' walk link doesn't work (no error) and the other internet features come back with "unspecified error" after a minute or so trying.
Reception is 2-3 bars and it says 3G is available in the top bar but when you look for further details it says it isn't.
I've tried the sony ericsson software updater and it said I had the latest software so I forced it but to no effect.
I got it off the internet from a company called phoneboxdirect but it was sealed T-Mobile branded box and T-Mobile sim pack so I doubt the shop messed it up.
Before I demand a refund is there anything else I haven't checked? Activating the sim, removing the branded junk without voiding the warranty, etc., etc.?
