just wondering what you guys use for backing up your Mac?

i'm looking at either getting a Lacie or Western Digital external drive

- but wanted to know if you have any recommendations for some simple software for making backups.

LaCie Silverkeeper works well and is free.

CarbonCopyCloner works well and is free.

SuperDuper! works wonderfully, and can be used for free. Extended options for $30(?).

I use the free SuperDuper! to make bootable backups on my 250 Gig Firewire LaCie external drive.

cheers - I'll take a look at them.

carboncopycloner is really good.... use it to make bootable backups of my system. i hear superduper is good... but it will cost you!

i prefer the free things :)

I would like to use CarbonCopyCloner, but there wasn't even a release post intel till recently. The 3.0 is a beta... and I can't use a beta for backups!

As soon as 3 is out of beta I'll likely take another look.

haha yeah i know i try an aviod it also...
soon everything will be UB

the thing with CCC is that you only ever run it once or twice and its not a bloated bit of software so you just turn it on when needed :)
