Mac Cleaner

I used Onyx under Leopard but as it's only a beta for Snow Leopard, I'm not prepared to use it. But to be honest, although I had Onyx, I never really used it very often, it just wasn't needed. Cocktail does similar and there is a Snow Leopard version.

Same as above. When I switched I expected to have to run some kind of maintenance programs, but I don't. The mac runs it's own scripts and it's more than capable of keeping it's self organized, defragged and running fast. :)

There is a reason for it, sometimes these tools are handy for clearing out caches. I have had the occasional issue where I've needed to clear a cache and they're the easiest way. It's not a common thing though so I've not missed having once since Snow Leopard.

If you search through the forums you will find instances where people have suggested using system maintenance tools and they've fixed problems.
