I wanted to change Broadband providers to O2 as I can get a 24meg connection for £15 a month at the moment I am with orange and paying the rip off price of £17.99 for a 2meg connection

When I requested a MAC code they said it was not possible on my account and I would have to be disconected to change providers, obviously I cannot do this as I will be without internet for a month. I phoned O2 and they told me it was my right under ofcom regulations to have a MAC code sent within 5 working days, then I phoned Orange who agian told me they could not issue a MAC code on my account when I threatened to phone Ofcom they told me Ofcom had been told about the problem and were aware of it.

This was a few months ago and have left my connection with Orange but I am getting more and more annoyed with my rip-off slow connection. Where can I go from here??

I am beginining to think from what I have read that Orange's story about the MAC code is a load of rubbish. :(

It's possible they've moved you to some LLU operation - you aren't entitled to a MAC code in all cases.
You're hardly being ripped off though.
