MAc hardware question

Would i be right in assuming since apple use intel cpu's that the motherboard is also of intel design? So the real difference is its an intel platform using a different operating system. Or is the motherboard an apple standard with core 2's adopted for it? :confused:

Apple use both Intel and now NVIDIA based motherboards. OS X is kind of like running Linux on a Windows box, but they have hardware on the motherboard which only allows OS X to be run on machines they sell.

I'll have to disagree the experience of OS X on Apple hardware is a million miles away from running Linux on Windows (or Desktop Linux on any hardware!)

Wasn't referring to OS experience, just using it as an analogy.

Apple: PC hardware, PC software
Microsoft: PC software

Mac vs. "PC" ------> Mac vs. Windows PC.
