Quick one.

I have one of the first Core Duo Intel Mac Mini's (1.6 Core Duo, 2GB Ram, Superdrive, 80Gig HDD with an Intel GMA950 GFX card)

When watching 1080p It will occasionally stutter every 10-15 seconds or so.

I've seen that theres a lot of performance to be gained putting a better CPU in, and theres a T7200 (2.0Ghz Core 2 Duo 64Bit) that I'm tempted to drop in.

I'm guessing this would give enough extra go to make 1080p be ok, but just wondered if anyone in here had done similar and could comment.

Cheers :)

takes 10 minutes to be honest if your competant..

there very easy to do ,, as simple as a pc ,, juts watch the ir dont break as you open top ie slide it up/off

plenty of videos on you tube showing it done...

I slapped 4GB ram and a 500gb 10k rpm drive in my same spec mac mini, which took about 15 mins. If I remember right I was as far in as it needed to also swap the CPU out, so it wouldnt take you long.

Hardest part is jamming the putty knife down the sides and hearing the terrible noise it makes

I watch slingplayer on mine, full screen, via a wired connection eventually to the slingbox, which I think go's upto 1080i? and it works great, with the default cpu.

Matt.

The problem is Intel GMA950. It won't do 1080p. I bet it doesn't even do HD flash neither does it? Been a long time since I had a 950 gfx.
