Mac mini to 30''

The new macbooks on the US apple store dont allow you to select the 30" display when ordering, so maybe the new macbooks dont allow it?

The MacBook Pro 100% does allow this, as I run my MacBook pro from my Dell 3007... well I'm running my PC thru there and my MBP thru my Dell 2407, but it does work cos I've used it on there a lot.

I'm sure you can get yaself a older 2.16ghz C2D MBP somewhere, they are cheaper now (obviously) and they work with the 30" cos I have an older 2.16GHz MBP!

If your going to use it as a desktop get a mac mini, it'll save you some pounds and its still a very capable machine! Just make sure you get 2GB of RAM. Also if it's your first mac then if you don't like it you haven't spent that much in relation to the others.

What will you be doing on it?

Me again....

Ive decided to go with the 2.2 macbook with the suoerdrive.

Whats apples policy with returns?

With it being my first mac im unsure if macs the way to go for me or not....but i am defo wanting a mac.

Do they allow returns if its been opend and used to try it out?

As anyone returend at item and had poblems?

Thanks

No they won't allow you to return it.

The Macbook has a mini DVI output.

The mini DVI to DVI adaptor is weird.

I got one today, and its not like normal DVI. I wanted to use a DVI to VGA adaptor on it, but it won't fit the DVI adaptor is missing the 4holes for pins around the flat bit, also the flat bit is smaller,

So i have a large hunch there is no chance of duallink on them.

BTW my macbook will be there tomorrow (x3100 model) so i'll let you know.
