My mate loves my new Mac Mini but hates the OS!!

Now, could some kind person spec a PC that is almost the same size as the Mac mini? Not sure on budget so as long as it is at least dual core and can run 8gig ram that would be fine. He would probably be using a Pico PSU.

Main thing is it needs to be same size as Mac Mini!! :D

Wesena-ITX2 looks great to me.

What components could i use guys? I haven't a clue. I know my mate would like a speedy beast but i know he doesnt play games on the PC as he loves his Xbox!

Ah hell why not go all out.

Gigabyte GA-H67N-USB3
Intel Core i5-2500k (You need the K series for the HD3000 graphics)
8GB RAM (Vengeance LP or XMS3)
1TB Western Digital Scorpio Blue
Scythe Shruiken BIG cooler.

Then on the Wesena site you can get hold of:
Wesena ITX2
Wesena 120w PSU
Wesena 12v 6a Power Supply Adaptor
Sony Optiarc BC-5640H Slot Loading Blu-Ray Combo Drive - SlimSATA

That will be a beast and tiny.

Thanks, will check that lot out

Still need to find a motherboard and a CPU that will be ok in that case and be cool and powerful! Help

So, here is my list can you let me know if ok:

Zotac H67ITX-C-E H67 or Asus P8H61-I Intel H61
Intel Core i3 2100T 2.5GHz Socket 1155 3MB L3 Cache Retail Boxed Processor
Akasa CC7118HPO1 Heatsink
4gig Ram DDR3
Wesena ITX2 Case
320gig 2.5 Hard Drive
Samsung slot loading DVDRW
160w Pico PSU with power brick

Total approx £500

Already got a Retail Windows 64bit so is the above ok? Can anyone make it cheaper for me!! lol

Would i need any special sata cables etc?

Or, get a Lian Li PC-Q07

Thing is, i like the smaller cases!!

Anyone?

Cat, anyway i can make this cheaper but just as powerful using the same case?

Would a build with the Lian Li PC-Q07 be better / cheaper? Is so, what components would you recommend?

E6700 has a 65w TDP. Would this be ok to run off a 160w Pico PSU? With a normal sized DVDRW, 4gig ddr3, onboard GPU, 1tb Hard drive?

Seriously thinking of building a system with the Lian Q07. Wesena looks great but not sure what to do there. I know the heatsink would be tight. Does the Pico come with extra connectors for sata and 12v mobo 4pin connector? So, if building with the Q07:

Now, i would want a very quiet modular PSU if not a Pico PSU. 8gig ram, what CPU / Mobo combination? An i3? It would have to have onboard gpu. Hard drive would be my existing 250g 2.5 7200 one. I would use my existing DVDRW too.

So, what you think guys? Dont want to ramp the price up.

Right, final spec, i think. Only thing now, should i go for the Wesena or the Lian Q07?

Is the spec below feasable?

Samsung Spinpoint M7 250GB 2.5" Notebook Hard Drive
Lian Li PC-Q07B, Black
Corsair Memory 8GB DDR3 SO-DIMM PC3-10600 (1333) Dual Channel
Powercool PSUPC450AUBAM 450W Modular Power Supply
Intel CPU i3 2100T Sandy Bridge Dual Core Processor
Asus P8H67-I Deluxe Rev.3.0 Intel H67 Socket 1155 Motherboard (Or would the non deluxe version be better)
SATA 22x DVD Writer SAMSUNG SH-S222AB/BEBE

Would i be better off getting a Pico PSU?

I already own Windows 64bit Retail

Do the above items look ok Cat?

Advice sought. Ta
