Mac OS X Trojan discovered in pirated software downloads.

Normal person..doesnt exactly make sense....The most accurate thing you could say currently, based on where the Trojans like this are is "if you aren't illegally downloading and installing software" then you don't need AV on OSX..
Unless downloading software makes you abnormal...doubtful in this day and age

As Pwn2Own proves every year OS X has holes in it ... the badge of honour in claiming you don't run anti-virus simply comes across as complacency.

And as far as I'm aware it requires the user to click on something (like an email link or a hijacked page) in order to gain control.

Common sense in almost every case wins the day! Be it on Mac/Windows or any other platform!
The funny thing is, amid all the claims that it is "unnecessary", the majority of you already have a rudimentary malware scanner on your Macs. It seems that Apple think it is necessary to include in OSX - even if you don't. 
You can call me complacent as soon as someone successfully hacks my mac.

Besides every OS will have holes in it somewhere...isn't that pretty much a given..and the reason why hardware firewalls etc.. were made.. and Anti virus software =D

Right, lets get the record straight, if you have a brain you do not need anti virus on OS X.
Really... you had to throw that in didn't you, a MONTH after everyone stopped talking about it and let things be. If you "had a brain" technically you wouldn't need anti virus on ANY system provided you took the correct measures.
