We have recently been removing quite a few threads relating to installing Mac OS X on a PC. While there are several sites promoting this, it breaks the terms of Apple's EULA and therefore is not allowed on the forums.

Please could we refrain from posting anymore threads like this.

While I'm not disagreeing, I'm wondering how what's said in Leopard's EULA relates to actual legality? (or is this a case of OcUK not wanting to upset the er Applecart? ;))

You are given permission to install the software by accepting the EULA. If you refuse to accept the EULA then you are breaking copyright law by installing it onto your computer. By accepting the EULA you are agreeing not to install it on a computer not made by Apple.

That's not to say they can write whatever they like - certain conditions might be unlawful, but there is no evidence to suggest this is one of those times.

However, it would be interesting if apple would release an unsupported (or sample?) version for PC's as a sales gimmick to get pple to but the real stuff. By unsupported I mean "if it don;t work don;t come cry to us".

I'm sure there are many people who would like the opportunuty to play witha mac in their own time and would like to do so without shelling out for an "expensive" mac. (yes I knwo you can get cheap 2nd hand etc...)

Will prolly never happen but it's my two penny...

Does that include iPod Touch Jail Break Threads; they seem to have disappear from the forum... or at least my small oriental eyes can't see them anymore...

Besides if you want an experience find an Apple Store and you can go play in there to see what it is like before buying anything.

MAC mini £400

you can't really have a proper play and use the OS how you would at home in a store though, I don't really want to pay £400 or more to try out an OS I might hate.

I would love to try it out sometime, but don't have that sort of cash lying around to waste if I don't like it.

I cant see why apple don't sell there OS I can see them making a tidy sum.

perhaps people would stop buying their hardware - so they would actually make less money.
