MacBook 2019 thread

Now I just have to decide whether I ditch my 13" one and replace it with a 6 or 8 core 15", or I buy a Mac Mini as a work station and keep my 13" for mobile duties.

Having just bought the a 13” 2018 I’m glad at this release. Only a tiny spec bump in the processor and some changes to the keyboard which is good!

14 day change your mind policy... I’d be taking it back for an exchange.

I got it on 6th of May, so was out of the exchange period when they were announced. Unless they’re very lax about it?
Try, Apple are pretty reasonable about that sort of stuff. Use the term “disappointed” and “first Mac” and see what they say :)

I think you'll be ok tbh...... Guy over at Reddit bought on 28 April and they offered a 2019 replacement.

Fantastic review here, complete benchmarks and he uses liquid ultra (brave man!), to see if it makes any difference to the mental thermals:

No, it doesn't just takes 1 minute longer to cook at 99c :D

I've just ordered a new 15" 6 core to replace my late 2013 13" Retina. Amazing for a laptop to last as long as it has, but I tried compiling something the other day and the many generations old dual core i5 chugged away for quite some time and it was then I realised I needed something new. Looking forward to a bit more screen real estate as well. Just hope I can get on with the keyboard.

Anyone know why pricing seems to have dropped? I bought a 2019 Macbook Pro from the Apple Store a week ago at £2349 but they seem to be selling for £2049 on the rainforest shop as of yesterday? Very frustrating!

It's never been against the rules to say Amazon if you're talking about products that OcUK don't sell.

If you bought less than two weeks ago, you can return it for a full refund, no questions asked. Do that and buy it from Amazon.

Are the ones on Amazon genuine UK ones, or is there a chance it's a grey import?

There have been products that are sold on Amazon (I won't go into specifics as they are also sold on OcUK) which are a good 20% cheaper than UK prices but they've turned out to be grey imports or refurbished items from sellers in the EU. Just be careful.
