I'm in the market for a new laptop since my 4 1/2 year old 17" (1440x900) dell is getting a bit past it and now has a faulty power socket too. I did try a newer dell a few weeks ago but due to a fault (which i've since discovered is extremely common) and general disappointment with the build quality, I returned it for a refund and am now interested in apples machines.
I own both an ipod and iphone 3g but my only real experience with the mac was old LC2s and LC3s running os7 when I was at school in the early-mid 90s. Although I didn't like them back then, using that experience to decide would kind of be like judging windows vista by experience of windows 3.1.
I'd be using a new machine for general web browsing etc and also editing and processing photos taken on my Canon DSLR.
I was originally looking to spend about £1k ish but could happily spend a bit more for the right machine.
Which would be the best out of the 2 for me?
