Got a 13" Book Pro about 3 weeks ago, I notice now as i type this that the fan has became a lot more noticable, right now all im doingvon it (been on for about 30mins), is surfing the web, but iStat tells me the CPU is up to 41o, with the fan running up to 2100, think it went higher than that not so long before.

North bridge is about 31, HeatsinkB 37o and the enclosure temps are all in the mid 20's.

It all seems abit high for me, literally tho only thing thats been opened is the FF Browser.

Since typing this the CPU is now up to 51o!

I could be wrong, but those temps dont seem high? I have a macbook 13" unibody, and it does run quite warm doing no more than surfing or watching movies. In the summer I've had it switch itself off as it was running too hot. Had to reset the temperature safeguard thing to boot it back up.

My MBP can reach 70+ when watching flash based items in the browser. My 17" MBP is usually around 50-60 on average. Those temps are normal.

Ahh thats ok, but seem bloody high for doing bugger all, i thtink its just ths sudden increase of the Fan noise TBH...its was SO quit till a few days ago.

My girlfriends 13" MBP sits at around 40c when browsing however it has no fan noise, load up the two cores and it will go into the 80s the fans don't really become noticeably until it hits the 80s and they spin up to full speed. It has also throttled the processor when it hit 100c after encoding a video for a couple of hours you could have cooked an egg on the keyboard !

Mines sitting at 39C at 2100RPM.

Although that is using my own control software.

Dont start getting worried until it gets past 90C :p

Is the fan noise noticable at that speed?..ill add it doesnt sound like their is a problem with the Fan, jsu for the size of it (its was tiny when I took the back off), soujd like it running raggid :D

With my girlfriends MBP 13" the fan is silent until it starts to spin faster at 70c ish by 80c it is flat out and very noisey. General web browsing the laptop is always silent with it sitting around 40-60c depending if flash is heavily used or not.

Just out of curiosity, I am thinking about getting a MBP around xmas and the only things I will be doing is word processing, internet and WOW. What will the temp be when running these? and if the fan kicks in how lound will it be????

^ indeed. TBH my fans rarely go any higher than 2100rpm and that's when pushing it. Relatively to other laptops I've experienced it's quiet.
