Hi,
A friend of mine has a Macbook pro 13" which has had some liquid spilt over the keyboard area. It's all been dried out etc and works fine except some of the keys are not very responsive.
You have to press them a couple of times for it to register. Is it a case of getting a replacement keyboard or have you got to get the top casing aswell ?

Or could I even take it apart and give it a good clean?

Thanks.

We had a similar problem. Went through home insurance and they ended up replacing the logic board, keyboard and lower casing (if you ask me, they made more of the job than necessary, I expect the repairer saw it as easy money as the insurance company would take their word for it).

Since we've had it back, there is an issue with the screen hinges not having the right stiffness. Need to phone them back and complain but we were without it nearly 4 weeks as it was while they messed it up. Such a pain :(

seeing as this is slightly on topic im going to shamelessly jump in with my own keyboard question. i'm going to be heading over to the US this summer and as is normal in the darn computer world $=£ so i was thinking of buying an MBP over there but it just occured to me that it would have a god damned US layout keyboard. if i was to get one in the US is it possible to change the keyboard to real UK layout? physically not just chaning the layout on the OS. and if you can, what sort of costs would i be looking at.

thanks for any help and sorry for the hijack murney.
