Hey all,
Been having recent ups and downs with my MBP 2012, non-retina. Had a few minor issues with a few months ago and took it into a local Apple Authorised Reseller to have it repaired. The repair job was to fix a broken webcam and audio jack. It was sent away and came back with a new screen and logic board.
Since then I've been having a variety of odd issues that I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions to help fix it. First issue is that under About this Mac, it was showing as having two built-in displays and going into extended desktop mode with its self. Alongside this I've been having freezes in games (D:OS, ESO) and crashing to the desktop. The final issue is the screen brightness controls not responding and being unable to change brightness from within system settings.
Of the above issues, the multiple displays issue seems to have been corrected with an OS X reinstall, the second seems to have been fixed by installing the Nvidia Web Driver and the brightness buttons are still an issue. SMC and PRAM resets have done nothing either.
I'm going to be taking it back to the reseller next weekend and just wondering if anyone has any suggestions of things I can try to avoid it having to go away for another week, t'would be much appreciated.
