To be honest my MBP 15" SR has more than enough oompfh for what I use it for so I think I can miss this refresh quite happily!

Apparently, Apple would have already released a new MBP if it hadn't been for the introduction of the MacBook Air.

Expect a new MBP in a few weeks I say

When you say new... are you thinking just spec upgrade? or a whole new MBP (i.e. face lift as well)?

Just updated chips.

Perhaps they'll take the opportunity to upgrade the case if they're going to implement the multi-touch trackpads, but I can't see them changing the design just yet.

They want to add the touch pad from the Air with the cool pinching and three finger website navigation and potentially use the new intel penryn processors for improved battery life and a small performance tweak.

Judging from the recent MacBook Air release, I'm saying they'll not bring out a coloured (be it White or Black or combo) version of MacBook Pro, its for the more professionally minded users and these colours might not make it stand out like the current MBP range.

Just fear they might bring out a MBP with black keys like the MacBook Air... EEK!

The only advantage of the 8700M would be Bootcamp Windows Gaming and not sure if Apple is aimiing the MBP at that market.

I think the 8600M really has enough umph for it's market. Sure more Graphics power would be nice but it shorten the Battery life/ cost difference etc.

If they released a black version of it I would upgrade straight away, just I think it would look really nice and my current MBP is giving me a bit of grief at the moment :(

There is always going to be something new around the corner, even in Mac land.

If the current MBP does what you need then i wouldn't bother. This is only a rumour after all.

ive just bought a macbook pro 15" 2.4ghz version few days ago, should i return it and wait for the new macbook pro or just keep the one i have ???

You have up to 14 days to return it.

If nothing appears in the next week then just live with it :)

Ah right cool cheers J.

Depending on the timing of this update I might be able to send back the one I've just ordered for the new one then...

Very interesting...
