It's gone to sleep and now won't turn back on, it had 89% battery when it went to sleep, what can I try? I'm new to Mac OS.

Plugged it back in and the light on the charger is flashing, I don't know if that is a fault or the battery is full.

Flashing magsafe charger usually means the battery has died or some other charging fault. Call apple and book an appointment at an Apple store.

Managed to turn it on, seems the battery has had it, it's showing an empty battery on the toolbar with an X inside, it's been on charge for 30 minutes and battery is still zero %, charger is working fine, green light is now showing, i'll leave it plugged in over night and see what happens tomorrow, may need a new battery and a new charger just to be safe.

Battery has an x in it and when I hover over it, it says no battery available.

Done an smc reset and fitted a new battery, no change.

Anything else I can try before I book it into apple?
