macbook ram & hd

can someone help me out, what kind of ram and what manufacturer should i buy? Im currently using a macbook with 512 ram and i need to upgrade to 2gig! Also i want an 80 or 120 gb hd again any help there would be much appreciated..

typical prices would be nice too thanks in advance

They use DDR2 PC-5300 CL=5 200pin SO-DIMMS.

You're looking at about £210 for a 2Gb kit (2x1Gb Sticks) they are also very easy to install.

If you know where to look, you can pick up 2GB of RAM for ~£150

I'm using 2 X 1gb Adata ram in mine and its works just fine.

Though ram prices are crazy at the moment - i paid just over £80 for 2 x 1GB, but now you are looking at double that :eek:

Yup, it's the run up to christmas that's to blame, prices always go up this time of year.

So is it just a 2.5" sata hard drive that I need then? Will speeds make a big difference?

Its got to be the same speed as the drive that is in the macbook - not sure if its 5400 or 7200.

If you use the wrong speed then it invalidates the warranty and apple wont touch it if anything goes wrong.
