I've just ordered a macbook and i was wondering with all the settings on low will i get major lag in raids & instances?, and does it play well with 1gb of ram. Also any one have an idea of the average fps rates i'll get?

Well, for starters your severly hampered by the inbuilt GMA950 graphics. So your maybe looking at low/medium details with very low fps in a raid I'd say. Perhaps 10-20.

What he said. You might not want v-sync on either, when I had it on it showed the fps as 30, does the MacBook screen really only have 30Hz refresh rate? :o

Oh, and I got about 60-70 in outside solo player action when I played on my MBP with 256Mb grahpics.

And then buy a USB keyboard and mouse. :p

Well, you might not need that, but I play "Hardcore numpad stylee", so a proper keyboard is handy for me. ;)
 
I played it on low settings on my mac book with the intel graphics, it was playable, 30 fps or so outside, 15-20 in org when it's busy.

7-10fps in really busy raids with attacks etc going on.

That was a while ago on 512mb of ram though, might be better on 1gb+

Apparently WoW (and most other games I'd imagine) run better under Windows than they do on OS X, on the same hardware. Might be worth considering using Bootcamp, just to get a bit of extra performance.
 
Powerful CPU paired with a GPU out of a cereal box. Safe to say that MacBook is not meant for games :)
 
Actually, Blizzard released a patch for WoW that takes advantage of both cores of a Core2Duo so it should perform as well on Mac as it does on PC.

Oh, and for gaming it has to be a MBP ;)
 
That statement is a bit obvious (regarding the increase in RAM vs. Performance).

AFAIK The built in graphics draw memory from the system RAM, hence if you're running a game with more RAM then it's not going to steal it from the Operating System = better fps
 
WOW played on OSx is just terrible, but it runs perfect on Bootcamp with 30-60fps, which i have tried and tested, had 1gb ram.
