Machine Doesnt Turn On

This sounds just like the problem I'm having (check my thread for more details).

After resetting the CMOS the same problem occurs. You mentioned that you get no POST beep, have you checked that the speaker is plugged into the motherboard? It'd be a great help if you could clear that up as I have an Antec 900 which doesn't include a speaker, so it's not possible for me to tell if my system is posting at all.

I'm going to continue my 3rd rebuild of the system a little later, I'll post my results straight after.

Once again, no luck. I'm really unsure what the problem could be, the power supply seems to be working fine, everything lights up, fans spin fine, although it might be that there's just not enough power to run the system, I wouldn't know, I don't have the experience. Since I don't have a speaker OR a display, I can't tell if the system is posting at all, although it sounds like Trialbiker's isn't so who knows... I think it could be the motherboard, but I'm really hoping it's not.

I once had a similar position on an old system. I took the processor out and put it back in again and remounted the cooler and it worked. Maybe no help but it's something

i had this problem the other day. Then hour later tried turning it on again and my power supply went bang and filled my room with smoke :)

I shouldn't laugh as this happened to my Pc (I stated above) without bang bit, but that was funny :). Try different cables for the Hd see if that does anything for ya.

yes the speaker is plugged into the motherboard and my mate said he used to get the post beep. Ive tried all different cables, unconnected everything and connected it all back together. I taken the g/c out and used the onboard but nothing im going to take out the cpu and put it back in to see what happens. I think it mite just be buggered grrrr.

Without RAM or the CPU installed, would the system normally give a display when powered on? I'm beginning to think that one of those two or both may be the cause.
