On the road....
A while back, I upgraded my PC to 2.5GB Using Oc/UK Value DDR 400 RAM, so I currently have 2x1GB Oc/UK RAM & 2x256MB Geil Value DDR400 RAM

Ever since then I get regular lock ups, usually once every 2-3 hours and it only happens while I'm enjoying a good game of Battlefield 2 or getting nice lap times R-Factor:mad: -it never seems to happen when I'm doing bad!!! :p:o - Sods law!

I've narrowed the problem down to the RAM as the problem dissapears when I put my 1GB (4x256) back into the rig or indeed, have just left the 2x256MB Geil RAM sticks in place. If I remove the Geil RAM and just have the Oc/UK stuff in, the lockups persist.

Trouble is, I have ran Memtest and the like to exhaustion and am bringing up no errors with the 2GB Oc/UK RAM what so ever.

I've tried the RAM in different slots and it is currently (according to my POST screen) running in Dual Channel mode.

Any advice appreciated thanks.

I am having a similar problem except mine is with 2 sticks of OCZ and 2 sticks of Corsair. In 32 bit vista I get constant interrupts from the ASUS ACPI and in Vista 64 bit I can use either the Corsair or the OCZ DDR2 PC6400 ram.
Vista 32 bit doesn't seem to be as fussy as 64 bit but what I have narrowed it down to is Timings. In Dual channel my Corsair is 4-4-4-12 and my OCZ is: 5-5-5-15. on Auto this comes out at 5-5-5-18 and even though it works in 32bit mode I cannot for the life of me get it to work in 64 bit.
Perhaps a change of the voltages and timings manually may help if I felt lucky enough.
I am using a Q6600 on an ASUS P5N32-E SLI MB with a 8800GTX in the PCI-E. Any luck you end let me know and I like wise.

You could try manually slackening the timings rather than auto, if the different memories have diffferent timings then set to the lowest of the two if they aren't identical, maybe even set the memory voltage rather than auto

Interesting stuff, thanks for the replys. :)

I'll try to relax things a bit (he says like the expert he isn't!) and see how things go. :D
