Mackbook price with HE discount

1 year phone support (as in ring up and ask them for assistance)

3 years hardware support (e.g. motherboard breaks due to fault after 2.5 years, they will still fix it)
 
Just to confirm. When I bought my MacBook with the HE discount I got an email confirming 3 years of hardware support, when I had a problem and I took it to a store I asked them to confirm the 3 year hardware warranty and they did.

The only benefit of Applecare is 3 years of phone support as well.
