Hello all,

Before I order the MacPro this week or next can someone confirm something for me.

I currently run 2 x 17" TFT's and I'm very tempted to order a 24" Widescreen Dell or Sammy or Apple monitor with it.

I'll be ordering it with the ATI X1900XT 512mb Dual DVI card. Which will run 2 monitors fine.

I need to know (I'd be surprised if it didn't) if Tiger supports more than 2 monitors?

Also, I will be wanting to plug my 26" LCD via VGA into the MacPro to watch films/dvds.

So at anyone time I want to be running 4 monitors.

Can Tiger support this without problems? :)

Thanks all :)

Well my mac supports dual screen and a third via the TV out without issue, so I don't see why it wouldn't.

Can you configure the postions?

Ideally I want them laid out like this

[ 17Inch TFT ] [ 24Inch Widescreen ] [ 17 Inch TFT ] [ 26" LCD TV ]

So I can move the mouse left and right to each of the monitors like I do now.

Many Thanks

The Mac Pro/Tiger should be fine with 4 monitors as long as you have two graphics cards etc

Word of warning don't get an Apple display, hugely overpriced and poor tech specs.

Yep, will be running 2 cards :)

I've heard the Apple monitors are very good :(

Probably going for the Sammy 24" when it comes out - looks awesome! :D

I went from a 20" Apple Cinema Display to a 22" Samsung 226BW and the difference is very noticeable.

The ACD's might be well designed and lovely to look at, but the panels they use are always out of date and have inferior specs.

One thing about the ACD's they do hold there value very well.

Make sure the video card you get is a Mac compatible one, and as said, the Apple displays, apart from holding their value, arnt all that good.
The Dell & Samsung ones of equilivent size will be cheaper, have better specs, and will probably have a few extras, like USB ports, card readers, ect;

Im running 2x 24¨ Dells off my Macpro, no problems at all and ive got the poverty spec 7300GT gfx card :( .
