Macro Lens

I want a macro lens - have always wanted one - but worry that I would never use it after the novelty wore off. What do you find you take shots of other than insects?

I've used my Tamron 90mm macro for portraiture, landscapes and architecture. It is a nice focal length that can be quite usable in many different instances.

Difference is, i dislike zoom lenses and therefore i don't use them very often. I carry a couple of prime lenses which is how i can incorporate the macro into everyday use. i.e. 17, 24, 35, 50, 90, 180, 300. I wont deny it weighs more and takes up more room than 2 zooms, but thats my preference, anyway the 17 --> 50mm primes are tiny & almost pancake like.

They usually work well for all sorts of photography.
Portraiture being their main use as thez are usually pin sharp.

Sometimes their focus is too slow but can work for sports when up close.

Any kind of stock photography.
