Just wondering if anyone still uses this, on these boards atleast? Im currently doing a damn resit assignement in it from university, im pretty crap at it really heh, just got niggly bits i need to try and suss!
Would like to know if theres any hard to find websites full of wonderful tutorials etc as to be honest, none of us from uni could really find much good!

i used it at uni 5 or so years ago when it was mx i think, and loved it.
did a computer game with it and also a promotional cd-rom. at the time the Music singles that had extra interactive content on was done in director. Dunno if it is anymore.
nerver used it out of uni though. but would love a job that did. its very good for learing Object orientated stuff.

cant remember any tutorial sites :( what kinda project is it?

its make a game for a client in travel industry, iv already got a pairs game im trying to fix my timer for, and add a score thing, with a score box that will popup after each level is completed and then allow progression to a new level.
New level with less time.

Score calculated from finishing the level+time remaining bonus - amount of misclicks

Would have also liked having a high score table in really, but im pretty carp at director, its not my cup of tea at all...
Also maybes some little cool thigns that fly about the mouse that you'v got to avoid while finding the pairs, heh...
Then iv gota add all the sound :(

Id have passed the module but i handed a coaster-cd in =/ and this referal assignement is harder than the 2 last year :(

Just out of interest, which universitys? & courses?
Hargi fancy rekindling your love for the program .. :)

off home now but ill try to dig out the beek that i used, was very good something like lingo for games.

dont have a copy of the program now :(

ah cool, is it an ebook or anything, this things in for the 25th but iv got a busy week next week so im kinda hoping to be done by monday to hand it in =/
Looking to pay someone to tutor me little bits of it when im really baffled lol

good man, this is what my pairs game is created using:)
i got my timer workin mostly last nite, kept being chewy and counting down as soon as startmovie tho, so on menu screen you could get game over, lol.
couldnt find a workaround for this to add requirements for the loop, nothing would come out valid, so i just made level time for menu screen 5000hours, hopefully that wont get noticed :p.
Ill be adding the end of level popups later, then re-arranging my difficulty buttons onto them as buttons to progress to next level.

Im then going to attempt to program a score mechanism, this will return integer from time remaining on clock, multiply it by a number, and then add it to (60-(guesses*number)
Maybes hav a bit of delay on calculations(street fighter anyone? :D)

after that its adding sound and redrawing all the graphics(new brief this time) and probably vectorising everything(optimisations anyone?)

That sound ok to you? to think the highest i can get is 40% too!

that sounds good,
we did space invaders lol but i could only get it to shoot one thing at a time and they had to wait till it hit an alien or went off the top of the screen before they could shoot again

it says in our brief we're not aloud to do space invaders or asteroids heh, probably cos we made those in 1st year on multimedia fusion(is it just me or do we only seem to use **** programs in my course?) :)

a lot of people have made up pretty random games, some are pretty damn good like. I would have passed if the .dir file opened on the cd i handed in, but it was a coaster :(!

To be honest i loved director, was my favorite moduel.
yeah i mean once you have the "basic" game then you can add all sorts of things on to it to improve it.

i had to use it for my multimedia module back in 2nd year, i hated it! i managed to make some usable app out of it
