Hello Peeps. Just wondering if anybody knows where I can pick these up for OS X, and if so are there any HE discounts? If it breaks any forum rules to mention the whereabouts of these software packages then perhaps I could be E-mailed Here instead. Cheers! :)

Adobe are now responsible for both products, since they bought Macromedia a few years ago. HE discounts are available iirc.

adobe.com?
Slightly patronising? or genuine help?

By the way I did look there but couldn't make head nor tail of the various different products/bundles and certainly couldn't find any HE discounts. Maybe I should visit it again though and have a proper good look, I do understand that it may be difficult to name drop without mentioning competitors. :)

Theres a comparison chart here
http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/compare/

Since you want Fireworks and Dreamweaver youll be wanting the Design Standard package.

do a search for "Adobe Web Standard CS4 Student Edition (Mac DVD)"
for £177.10

or you could go for the "Adobe Web Premium CS4 Student Edition (Mac DVD)"
which includes photoshop, illustrator and acrobat for not much more
£224.25

incredible value when you consider that the non-student version of the web premium costs a staggering £1,321.35!!

Incase youre wondering about the differences between Student editions and the normal editions have a read here:

http://www.adobe.com/education/students/studentedition/faq.html

main point: Can a Student Edition also be used for commercial purposes?

In North America, Student Edition software can be used for commercial purposes. Outside North America, Student Edition software is for noncommercial purposes only.

Genuine help... from you using 'Macromedia' when it's Adobe making that software now lead me to believe you didn't know that...

Glad you've found the info you needed :)

Ah, sorry for misleading. :) And also, please allow me to apologise for being a bit offish with you in my reply to your first post. :)

I think the well-known online retailer that shares it's name with a very famous river sells Adobe, the student versions anyway.
