Has anyone seen this before? If so what did you think of it?

Decided I needed a new show to watch and am quite enjoying this so far, only a couple of episodes in too!

I used to like it, i'd never watched it while airing and started from the beginning and got quite into it for a while. I'm not even sure of the reason why i lost interest but i did by the time season 5(i think) came on.

Brilliant - absolutely top drawer writing, acting and direction. Operates on so many levels.

... On the other hand, very little "happens" in the show - as so often is the case with real life. So if you're expecting a show like 24 or even Breaking Bad, then stay away.

One of my favourite shows that's currently airing, but I think it won't be for everyone. The Walking Dead thread has shown me that a lot of people are strongly opposed to character and dialogue driven stories. If you watch a couple of episodes then you will probably either love it or hate it. Should be a good indicator.

watched the first 4 series on Netflix, its good, but its getting a bit long in the tooth now. Still watch it though.

For a show on it's sixth season it's still firing on all cylinders, this season got off to a bit of a slow start as we all played catch up on the intervening time but the latest episodes have all been pure gold.

I have just finished the first season of Mad Men and despite it being quite slow to start, it has developed into an engrossing masterpiece. Very clever, very witty, well written, and simply outrageous in parts. I really didn't think I'd like it, even after about 4-5 episodes in I wasn't really hooked. But....

As a previous poster stated, whilst not much really "happens", it still really delivers. Whilst it has an essence and a style about it that harks back to the Sopranos, with some of the editing, and more recently with similarities to Boardwalk Empire in its style, it proves that you don't need guns and violence in abundance to make a really great TV show.

Peggy is definitely an intriguing character and its so strange to see her in this role (given the actresses previous performances in The West Wing as Zoe Bartlet).

Its certainly better than its modern day setting equivalent...Suits...(by a country mile in fact).

One of my all time favourite shows. Fantastic writing and characters but as someone else mentioned it isn't for everyone. Friends who I have spoken to say its boring and nothing happens... But i love it :)

That was horrible, as in Don's situation back in the office, you can imagine how sick he must have felt wondering what they would decide to do. How long before Don get's sacked then...

Just got last the 'lawn mower' episode, most exciting thing to happen in the whole show. For some reason I still keep watching it though.

Doesn't sound like you're enjoying it much. :(

It's a shame because it is a great series. Although they should have stopped after the fifth series.

It's not for everyone.

Just started season 4, great show. Its slow but the writing, acting and sets are incredible.
It does definitely do well at drawing you into the 60s and the story threads are super complex, but yeh if you want action or pace its not the show for you at all.

I can't believe no one has bumped this thread. It's the last season, and there's now only one episode left!!

I've not seen the very latest episode, but it seems things are all unravelling for the SCDP bunch. It's going to be strange seeing this series end.
