Mafia 2 help

Hi,
I'm on the bit where Joe and Vito are selling cigarettes and some other guy comes and tells you that you are selling on their turf and then there's a car chase.
I always lose the other car at the first tunnel and then when you have to go to a phone booth to call eddie, i get in and press E to call and the games crashes to desktop. Tried 3 different phone booths and 2 graphics cards!

Any advice??

If its on steam verify the game files. If not reinstall or check to see if theres some sort of update.

I think that the game is up to date. I am hoping to exhaust all other possibilities before reinstalling

verifying the files checks for errors, so if any files have gone corrupt over time they can be downloaded again.

quicker than a reinstall and doesn't mess up your save games.

Noob q, but how???
I never really used steam before.

If it helps i got the game from India - from one of the less dodgy stores that sell full legal and safe copies. Fully retail. First 7 chapters of game worked fine

it only works if you have downloaded the game through steam.

Yes, that's correct.

If that doesn't work try starting the chapter again. I had to on chapter 12 or so, it refused to load, so wouldn't be surprised if it fixes your issue.

Thanks for the help. Once it finished validating i tried again and it worked!!!
Been playing for the last hour or so

BTW, whats the best way to get the fastest cars-without paying ofcourse!
