Mafia 2

didn't play the original much, lost my saves and never went back to it. Might have to dig it out and finish it. This looks good, take it the bit near the end is the in game GFX.

The original was class, except the part at the racetrack, which was, it should be said, a complete nightmare. :)

They addressed this in patch later on, which gave you the option of changing the difficulty and also turning damage off. It was a real pain before though, must have taken me about 20 go's to win the race first time round.

I still have Mafia, I might go about installing it soon... Can't wait for this.

I must've been part of a small minority that found the race really easy (pre-patch). My friend couldn't even do it after the patch! :D

Simultaneous release on 360/PS3/PC

The gist of the press release is that its aimed at the consoles, with a PC port. So expect some 'dumbing down'. Hopefully they wont **** it up.

snap with the racetrack, then i switched it to the easiest setting and won first time.

would feel bad but the race just want fun and i wanted to get it over with

I loved the difficulty of the unpatched game with no ability to turn damage off for the race. Only took a few attempts, the key is getting into the lead by the 2nd corner.

I loved it but it took my around 30 goes using a keyboard and mouse!

In hindsight it was ridiculously hard compared to the "just right difficulty" of the rest of the game. I guess part of the problem was it requires totally different kind of skills than all the other levels!

Loved Mafia. And I thought the whole race story / set up was great. Stealing the car in the dead of night, then having to race, all brilliant. I found the driving easy, but I'm a seasoned sim racer :)

Really looking forward to part two.
