Mafia 3

Does the missions get better?

What gets me is when taking over a building, when you first go there to kill or interrogate an informant, you then report back and then the same place you just went and shot up you have to go back because the boss has shown up, its like doing the same thing twice.

You do get a bit of variation, but the mechanics are the same, IE;

- Cause enough damage to bring out a boss of an area
- Kill boss
- Kill next level boss (these missions are different than anything you've done before).
- Assign area to one of your own bosses

Rinse and repeat.

Thanks, Im just not feeling it, I may just trade in now while I can get a fairly decent price for it.

Well I have given it a go, and I cant get on with it either :(

When you are forcing yourself to play it and forcing yourself to enjoy it, it just doesnt work

Game should just be fun and your forget about what you are doing

I'm actually really enjoying it, I got this and Gears of War at the same time and this is the one thats had the most play. The story is pretty good and the setting is great.

Reviews are saying great story, great script and voice acting. Flip side is with terrible, repetitive GTA clone gameplay.

I'll pick it up cheap then. I do love a good story so I will get it for that.

Just had a few hours on it crash and bug free.

Just completed the theme park mission. Quite fun :D

Liking how you can complete some missions using stealth or you can just choose to blast through. Also loving the soundtrack :)

It's a decent game when it isn't crashing.

I'm giving it another few days until the EA Access trial for Battlefield 1 comes out, if I'm still not enjoying it then I'm going to sell it. As someone said above, I feel like I'm trying to hard to enjoy it.

Getting a bit bit bored at the mo though the cut scenes add some interest. Basically GTA V has spoiled me due to the variety of stuff to mess around with.

Raaaaage, had a ton of cash quickly went to stash is, was being chased by police car, then a car came out of nowhere, my car then just got stuck in the back of an other car?! and police man shot me!

Lost about $8000!

I use the concierge as much I can to store the money, I'm saving up for the $150000 trophy, lol

I am a good 10+ hours into the game, i do like it, but it is a little disappointing when it is inferior to mafia 2 in a lot of ways.

I have over $200k saved up with nothing i can see that i need to spend it on. yea i can buy the weapons from the dealer, but i have not had a single mission where the weapons i had where not good enough so simply haven't felt the need to buy any. Am i missing something, or is cash pretty much pointless?

Feels like the old World of warcraft days, its a grind to do the silly same side missions to get to a main mission which is then only slightly different to the rest to get a small cut scene to continue the story. Rinse and repeat, it is starting to get pretty boring, the story is ok but not anywhere near the level of engagement of mafia 1/2 couldn't care less what happens to any of the characters, other than vito, but that's only because of the connection from mafia 2.

I was expecting BIG things from the game, and feel let down in every single respect, other than one... The game is LOONG, but that is because they have cut corners by making you do the same things over and over again. Without the silly "filler" missions the actual game i feel would be very very short.

I remember walking through the street to find a guy being dangled by his legs off a ledge, and i thought to myself that was a little easter egg, but no... hour or so later i got the mission to go their again and the guy was yet again being dangled with the same dialogue.

I have found myself clearing out a place to then have to go back not much later to clear it again. Very annoying!

I dont really care enough about the story to want to progress, i feel like i am playing the game simply because i spent £40+ and i feel like i need to.

Cash does seem pretty much pointless outside of the character upgrades, extra adrenalin shots and the likes. I had about $300K left over at the end of the game and just spunked it all to get the big spender achievement.

Once you've got the character upgrades, a decent shotgun and the silenced pistol you don't really need anything else.

Some of the associate favour missions are super cheap as well. For Cassandara it's get a truck and bring it back, then 4 more of those with each one just being further away each time. It does get tedious.
