Mafia: The Old Country

Yeah just watched latest trailer, came away very unimpressed. Gun play looked bad and the way the cars drove looked bad to me. Hopefully just the trailer but defiantly didn't do anything for me

Mafia 1 gun play was extremely poor.

Mafia 3 driving was the worst though and this game being made by the same team looks just as bad.
I loved Mafia 2, also played a bit of old version of Mafia 1, but need to try that remasterd one. Mafia 3 was crap, they put black person in mafia universe and ruined whole atmosphere - silly idea - more suitable for gangs etc, like GTA... Its like watching Netflix show - yeah, lets put indian transgender non-binary gay person as Al Capone. Brilliant ideas:confused:

This one looks nice, hopefully will have a good story and not too boring progress.

Trouvle is mafia 3 was made by the same people that are making this one.

I expect to see the ubisoft style maps where there is a location to unlock that section of the map, then there is a leader of that area, then a shop, a garage etc, rinse repeat 5 different times for each "area" of the map

Thought it was misnamed though, had beggar all to do with Italian mafia.

I think the same applies with this latest one! Feels like if they made red dead redemption 3 set in 2025. The game may feature some link to the characters in the previous games, but it's a whole different feel.

As much as I think this game may be fun, I just think it should have been it's own game without the mafia brand, and then we get another mafia game set in a city like new York, with the same cars/music from mafia 1. That's to me what the franchise should be about.

What? It was fantastic for its time. Guns had appropriate kick to them, shotguns felt powerful, and losing your mag if you reload too early was icing on the cake.
You're right there was some good aspects. What I should have said is that they shoot outs were bad when reviewed with today's experience. It was literally a case of just stand there and shoot. While using the environment to mostly block your body

Resisting temptation to judge a book by its cover but I just can't help thinking this is going to be a flop.
Mafia 1 I have the highest respect for and really fond memories of that. I'm actually reading through The Godfather at the moment and love the early Italian setting but one of the Youtube comments put it perfectly 'I feel like i've played this game a thousand times'. I really want to like this and will give it a chance but there is something missing from the clips I have seen.
