Hi guys this is probably an odd question but my friends son is visually impaired, and at his school the I.T Dept have set up a specific computer in each of the ICT Rooms with a magnifying mouse (The Microsoft optical 3000 or something) and at a click of a button on the mouse a magnifier pops up and click it again to go away, The trouble is every few times a month the teacher either moves the pupils or the computer that has been adapted breaks and he has to use a normal PC or laptop.

My question is, are there any plug and play mouses with a magnifier built in, so he can plug it into any pc or laptop and have an instant magnifier when he needs it?

Due to the school restrictions the windows magnifier is disabled and he doesn't like it to much anyway as the mouse version can be clicked on and off easily.

Any idea if they use septate logins etc at school? You could always talk to his teachers & IT dept to try and get some privileges for his restrictions etc.
Or can he not take his own laptop to school?

a few 3rd party software apps that have magnifying capability

Though he may not have privileges to install onto the computer either
