Mail.app - Syncing smtp subfolders?

I had a mail account on an old user (had to switch cuz of preference file problems) which had sub folder for organising...

my iPhone knows they are there, just added the SMTP mail account and the sub folders appear, but in my newly created account in my new os x user, there aren't any sub folders... any idea how to get it to pick them up?

Smtp is just what's used to send email. You sure you don't mean imap? There are options in there for setting which folders get synced, but I couldn't tell you where it is without looking.

I have this exact same problem with my yahoo mail and mail.app, a fix would be great

Have you tried looking at the subscription list to see if you can subscribe to your missing subfolders?

You can access the list by right clicking on your inbox in the left pane and selecting "Get Account Info". These steps might not be accurate because it's been awhile since I last used Mail
