I hope im in the right place for this. I'm using a Gigabyte GA-X48T-DQ6 Intel X48 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard and I've had problems with the heatsink (which I've hopefully dealt with) but this morning when I booted my pc it came up with backup bios checksum error, recovering bios image. it did so then came up with the same error but for the main bios. After a quick opening of the case I've got it working (for how long I dont know) again.

What does this all mean as Im new to pc building and dunno whether this should concern me that my pc is about to give up on me.

the mobo you are using has Dual Bios and it helped to recover bios contents.
i don't know what kind of problems you had with heatsink but first make sure your cpu temp is OK when case is closed - you can check it under bios setup
