mainboard temperature

I have built this pc about two months ago, everything is running sweet and system is very stable.
I have just run Sandra and it reports a mainboard temp of 122c, would this be correct.
I have checked the system temps in bios, cpu 29c, system 25c, gpu 37c.
If the mainboard was running at this temp would I not have some sort of system instability?
I checked the temp after boot up after pc had been off all night and temp started at 99c.
Any info appreciated.

Welcome to the forums, I'd have to call it highly unlikely that your motherboard will be anywhere close to 122C. Put it this way if you can touch the North/Southbridge heatsinks then you aren't even in the vicinity of that temperature, not to mention that it would probably start melting the motherboard.

Your other temperatures sound reasonable so I wouldn't worry yourself about it.

Thanks M8, I tried touching one of the heatsinks on the motherboard (not sure if its north or southbridge) and it was warm, not hot, so looks like you are correct, nothing to worry about.
Thanks again
