Major DR Watson Errors

Hi All,

I've recently started getting major Dr Watson errors on my pc, just after start up the whole thing goes crazy. Can't open any app without Dr Watson appearing, saying it's debugging and sending info to MS.

Operating system is XP with full upto date patches.

But if I remove all my anti virus software and firewalls, everything calms down.

The only thing I can link it to is that I got a warning recently when Azerus carried out an update about a possible conflict with my anti virus software.

Once the problem started I removed Azerus as didn't really use it that much, but the problems with the Dr Watson have not gone away.

So currently using pc without any anti virus installed which i'm not overly happy about.

Anyone come across this problem before and can offer any assistance.

Hi

How about running C:\WINDOWS\system32\drwtsn32.exe and looking at the settings and errors in there. You could also have a look at the log file which should be located in the following folder C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson\

This should give you an idea of what process is dying.

The log files just seem to be saying symbol file cannot be found.

Also serious error in Explorer so i think something I've installed and then removed put a control into explorer and hasn't correctly reset it when it was removed.

Can't find in the logs though what that missing component it. Looks like a re-install, was going to move to Vista soon anyway so maybe this in the time.
